Medicare is implementing a new competitive bidding program that limits the choice of homecare providers for certain Medicare-covered durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics and supplies (DMEPOS) in nine competitive bid areas.
This program includes certain Medicare-covered DMEPOS in your part of the country; only those providers who have been offered, and have signed, a formal contract with the government will be permitted to provide these lines of equipment to Medicare patients in your area. Medicare used certain financial, accreditation and geographic coverage criteria when it made its selection. Apria is prepared to serve new Medicare patients who need the services we are contracted for and will continue caring for patients who are already on service with us for these and other non-bid services/products.
Reasons To Choose Apria
- Our national capabilities combined with experience in transitioning patients from other providers gives us the ability to immediately service almost all Medicare patients.
- Apria is able to provide care today for patients who may be on service with a non-contracted provider.
- Our service to managed care patients will not be impacted by competitive bidding. We will continue to provide the same excellent support and services managed care patients have come to expect from Apria Healthcare.
